Buckle up sweet listeners, this one is extra special. Sarah and Jane sat down with Davis Haines, an artist, musician, and near-death experiencer who is an exceptionally sparkly human. Tear stained and soggy from the conversation, by the end both of us are convinced he is emitting actual light beams.
Davis grew up in a wonderful but chaotic, art-obsessed family in Alabama, an identical twin who found himself through theater, poetry, and a barbershop quartet. Davis he woke up at 5am in High School to rehearse with (the devotion!). He fell in love young, coined his own spiritual identity as a "love-ist" because why not just make up the word you need, and lived that glorious, broke, funk-band-and-feather-boas artist life in Chicago in his early twenties.
Then, on July 11, 2011, a bike ride took a dark turn. Davis went under the back tires of a truck, and was given a 1% chance of survival. During emergency surgery, he died. And what he found on the other side was not tunnels or visions, it was love, love and love capital L.
The rest of the episode is a joyful wander through what Davis calls integration, the long and winding thirteen-year-average process of putting himself back together. There is a vision quest, a skydive, some ayahuasca, a whole lot of learning to just be, a stray backyard cat named nothing in particular, and a soul mantra ("thank you, I love you") that will bring you all the feels.
Key Takeaways
Integration takes time, sometimes as long as a decade or more, and there is zero shame in the slow, messy unfolding. Let it be a whole journey, not a weekend project.
Rest is not the opposite of a spiritual life. It might BE the spiritual life. Chill guilt is real and worth releasing.
The universe has a flair for the dramatic. When something feels too perfectly symbolic to be a coincidence, it might be worth paying attention to.
Chasing the big cosmic feeling through extreme experiences often leads right back to something delightfully small, like a baby waving hello or a cat on the compost bin.
Healing generational wounds does not require a big dramatic showdown. Sometimes it just looks like raising a kid who has never once doubted her own magnificence.
You do not need a tunnel of light or a dramatic vision to have a real, life-rearranging near-death experience. Sometimes love shows up as pure feeling, no special effects required.
Direct Quotes
"God is a feeling... this was one of those things where I was like, oh, oh, oh, God is everything, like everything."
"It was like sinking into a warm tub after a long cold day in the snow, times a thousand."
"I say that Art saved my life."
"Thank you, I love you. Thank you, I love you. That has actually become my prayer, my mantra."
"Actually, this is it... I can't believe that I am happily living in my hometown doing this."

A Vedic astrology reading gave Jane some unexpected clarity, and she brought Sarah in on it too: how do you actually know you're living your life's purpose? The episode was sparked by that reading, where the astrologer named Jane's purpose in a way that felt less like news and more like confirmation of something she already knew in a deep and delicious way.
From there the two dig into why so many people confuse their job with their purpose, and why that framing sets people up to feel lost. Sarah shares how her own sense of purpose has shifted by decade, from partying and playing music in her twenties to raising a family in her thirties to, now, simply becoming the fullest and most unfiltered version of herself. Jane echoes this with her own winding path from wanting to be a teacher, to filmmaker, to medium, to teacher again, full circle.
The conversation moves through some of the most useful, real world tools either of them offers on the show: using tension versus excitement in the body as a compass for decisions, noticing what books are stacked on your nightstand as a clue to what you are actually being called toward, and the idea that reactivity is not something to eliminate but something to move through with more awareness. Sarah lands on what might be the simplest definition of purpose either of them has offered: it is the presence or absence of regret. If a choice brings you closer to joy and further from regret, that is the direction to walk in, even when the decision is small.
Key Takeaways
Your purpose is not required to be one fixed thing or your job title. It can shift by season, decade, or chapter of life, and all of those versions still count.
A useful test for whether you are living your purpose is regret, not accomplishment. Ask which choice leaves you with less regret rather than which one looks more impressive.
The body is a reliable compass. Notice whether a decision makes you feel tense or relaxed, exhausted or excited, and let that inform which direction you move in.
Reactivity and hard emotions are not the opposite of purpose. Moving through them with a little more awareness, rather than suppressing them, is part of the path.
Small, unglamorous signals, like what is stacked on your nightstand or what you keep circling back to for fun, often say more about your purpose than a big dramatic decision does.
Being fully present in ordinary moments, rather than living in the future or the past, is often where purpose actually shows up.
Direct Quotes
"A lot of us think that our job has to be our life's purpose. And I don't think that's the case." — Sarah
"The word that's coming through for me right now is living without regret." — Sarah
"You just point your compass toward what brings you a little bit more joy." — Sarah
"Does this make me feel exhausted, or does this make me feel excited?" — Sarah, on using the body to make decisions
"My bedside table is telling the story." — Jane, on noticing what she was drawn to reading before she changed careers

Our last replay for the summer is one of our favorite Sarah and Jane episodes from 2025.
The word awakening is everywhere lately. People talk about spiritual awakening, consciousness shifts, dark nights of the soul… but what does any of that actually mean when you’re living it in real life?
In this episode of Medium Curious, Jane and Sarah talk about what awakening has looked like in their own lives, how mediumship and intuition can open us up in unexpected ways, and why waking up isn’t usually one big lightning bolt moment.
More often, it happens slowly.
Through challenge. Through connection. Through grief. Through healing. Through those moments where life cracks you open just enough that you start seeing things differently.
We talk about the strange and beautiful human experience of remembering who we really are, how nature constantly brings us back to ourselves, and why sometimes the hardest seasons of life end up becoming the biggest catalysts for growth.
A few things we explore in this episode:
✨ Why awakening is a process, not a destination✨ How mediumship can deepen intuition and self-awareness✨ The role connection and community play in spiritual growth✨ Moving through the dark night of the soul✨ Why your body is constantly communicating with you✨ The healing power of being in nature✨ Learning how to trust yourself more deeply✨ Finding joy, even while you’re growing through hard things
A few favorite moments:
“We are brave for being human.”
“Your body is the tuner.”
“It’s all just a play.”

You've done the vision boards. You've said the affirmations. You've probably even tried manifesting a parking spot (no judgment, same). So why does everything you call in eventually slip away?
And to find out - We brought back this amazing guest from Season 3!
Because Talyn Fiore has the answer — and it's not what the manifestation gurus on your feed are telling you.
Jane and Sarah sat down with this healer, world traveler, and all-around force of nature for one of those sweet then - WOOF - powerful conversations. It starts with Reiki and ends with you rethinking everything you thought you knew about worthiness, trust, and what it means to receive.
Here’s what surprised us to hear: you can manifest something and still unconsciously push it away. Talyn's been there, watched it happen, and figured out the missing piece — and spoiler, it’s for you to find internally - not to pin to a vision board.
What comes up in this one:
The real reason manifested things don't stick
How Reiki cracked Talyn open in ways she wasn't expecting
Navigating loss, purpose, and the kind of grief that flattens you
Why discernment is the most underrated spiritual skill nobody's teaching
Learning to trust your gut even when the nudge makes zero logical sense
How letting go of who you think you are might be the best thing you ever do
Talyn has followed some wild divine nudges — across countries, through hard seasons, through total reinvention — and she brings all of it to this conversation with zero filter and a whole lot of heart.
✨ A few lines that'll stick with you:
"Reiki is unconditional love."
"You have to listen to your calling."
"Allowing yourself to change your mind."

Radleigh Valentine is back, and he came with a prayer, a story about a dog he absolutely did not want, and more wisdom than any episode should be legally allowed to hold. Radleigh is an angel whisperer, oracle deck creator, and Hay House author who has spent decades helping people understand that angels are not fluffy sideline characters but active partners in this very human life. He and co-author Heather Hildebrand wrote their new angel prayer book in eight weeks on deadline, and somehow that constraint cracked something wide open.
In this conversation, Radleigh walks Sarah and Jane through his own complicated history with prayer, how he walked away from it entirely when he left organized religion, and how he quietly found his way back to it without even realizing he was doing so. He talks about the book's structure as a divination tool organized by topic, the surprising teaching that came from co-writing with someone whose prayer style is completely opposite to his, and why he believes prayer at its core is an act of self-worth.
The episode moves through law of attraction, the concept of rockets of desire borrowed from Esther Hicks, and Radleigh's genuinely original take on why humans keep wanting more. His idea is that we are not broken or greedy but simply trying to recreate the feeling of being on the other side, where connection, communication, and abundance were instant and effortless. He also opens up about his divorce, his move back to Denver, and how the hardest years of his personal life became the exact material that led to this book.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Prayer does not belong to any one tradition. If you left organized religion and stopped praying, you likely just renamed it. Radleigh called his "meditations" for years before he let himself have the word back. Reclaiming the practice on your own terms is a valid and worthwhile spiritual move.
There is no single right way to pray. Radleigh and his co-author Heather Hildebrand have completely opposite styles. She writes long, layered, comprehensive prayers. He writes short, direct ones. Both are legitimate. The lesson from their collaboration is that you are an artist of prayer, and finding your own style matters more than doing it "correctly."
Prayer as self-compassion reframes the whole practice. Asking for what you need is not demanding or greedy. It is an act of tenderness toward yourself, and at its root it is a declaration that you believe you are worthy of being heard.
The desire you feel for more is not a flaw, it is the design. Radleigh draws on Esther Hicks and Neale Donald Walsch to make the case that we are "wanting machines" by intention, always firing rockets of desire because we are wired to keep creating and moving toward joy. You cannot get it wrong because you cannot get it done.
Human striving may be a memory of the other side. Radleigh's take is that cell phones, airplanes, and money are all attempts to recreate what was effortless in the spirit realm: instant connection, instant travel, instant abundance. We are not chasing external things so much as we are trying to feel what we already know.
The angels are in everything, including the algorithm. From a Facebook puppy post to a radio DJ saying "Three Dog Night" at exactly the right moment, Radleigh's stories illustrate that divine guidance does not wait for sacred spaces. It will use whatever is available, including your social media feed.
Worthiness and prayer are inseparable. The reason so many people struggle to ask for what they want, whether in prayer or in life, comes back to a deep belief that they do not deserve it. Radleigh's point is that having angels assigned to you by the divine is itself evidence of your worth.
DIRECT QUOTES
"When I left organized religion, I threw the baby out with the bathwater. I was just like, not praying, thanks. And threw it out."
"Prayer in its very essence is a desire to feel worthy. We are trying to be in a place where we feel worthy enough to ask for this, to therefore be worthy enough to receive it."
"We are wanting machines. Right? We are. We're wanting machines. But by design. I mean, it's the design."
"We are trying to find joy. We are trying to find happiness because we are used to it on the other side."
"We have jet airplanes because we are used to being able to be anywhere we want to be instantaneously. We want money because we are used to being able to acquire anything we want instantaneously. Human life in so many ways is trying to recreate our life on the other side."

In this Sunday Solo episode of Medium Curious, Jane Morgan explores the power of intuition, inner knowing, and learning how to trust the voice within — especially during life’s biggest decisions.
Jane shares deeply personal (and often hilarious) stories about communicating with her “higher self,” including an animated conversation with her own heart before a medical scan, and the emotional moment her son realized he may have found his life’s calling.
Along the way, she reflects on:
the difference between intuition and fear
how silence helps us hear our inner voice
why modern life pulls us away from ourselves
the role of meditation and consciousness
trusting intuitive nudges in real life
raising your frequency through love, optimism, and presence
why intuition may be more powerful than AI
This episode is funny, thoughtful, emotional, and deeply encouraging for anyone trying to make sense of their next step — or simply wanting a more peaceful relationship with themselves.
If you’ve ever wondered:
“Am I on the right path?”“Can I trust my intuition?”“Is there something bigger helping me?”
…this little convo is for you!

David Ferrugio has been hosting Dead Talks Podcast for six years, built on a simple but radical premise: death is the one experience every single one of us shares, so why aren't we talking about it? What started as a way to process losing his father in the North Tower on September 11th, 2001 when David was twelve years old, has grown into one of the more remarkable shows in the grief space. Eclectic guests, real conversations, zero pretense. Sarah and Jane are big fans, and this episode felt like meeting an old friend.
David talks about what compelled him to start the show, what hundreds of conversations about grief and loss have taught him, and why death remains so taboo when it's the most universal thing we've got. David, Jane and Sarah dig into the strange duality of grief: how 9/11 was simultaneously the most public and the most isolating event of his life, and how that contradiction is actually at the heart of what grief feels like for all of us. They also get into intuition, energy sovereignty, why men are so underrepresented in this space, and how Dead Talks has become a place where people feel safe.
Key Takeaways:
Grief is simultaneously the most universal human experience and the most isolating one. Building community around it, even just a comments section, gives people permission to speak their truth.
Men showing up to talk openly about grief is significant. It lets other men know that vulnerability is safe and it shifts the cultural conversation in a way that benefits all.
Fear of death often comes down to fear of the unknown.
Trying to control the uncontrollable is exhausting and ultimately impossible. The better plan is learning to go for the ride.
Direct Quotes:
"It's the most universal experience, yet the most isolating experience at the same time. Just like life, it's a double-edged sword." — David Ferrugio
"All people want is to be heard and validated. And if they're saying it here, they might feel somewhat safe in saying it — because this is what we're doing here." — David Ferrugio
"My dream is for everybody who wants to, to just delight in the fact that they have access to energy, to spirit, to their intuition. It's not some weird, freaky thing." — Sarah

She's back! Kim Rhodes, best known as the mom on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Sheriff Jody on Supernatural, returns for a second conversation with Sarah and Jane, and this time things get even more interesting. Kim opens by confirming what a psychic once told her years ago: she has fae blood. A stranger at a recent convention walked up and informed her that her fairy wings were fluttering, and honestly, once you see her on camera, you can't argue with it.
What unfolds from there is a wide-ranging, deeply real conversation about what it means to live outside the box. Kim shares her experience as an autistic woman diagnosed six years ago with both autism and ADHD, offering a nuanced, personal take on the Telepathy Tapes phenomenon and why blanket statements about neurodivergent people, even well-meaning ones, deserve a closer look. She makes a compelling case that autistic people may not be more psychic than anyone else, but they may be less likely to censor themselves when something pops in, and that distinction matters.
The conversation winds into Kim's new theory about feminine archetypes: that the traditional maiden-mother-crone framework is missing a fourth stage, the Warrior, a phase she describes as a woman who has survived long enough to stop apologizing for taking up space and start using her gifts as weapons of love.
Kim also talks about her life since the pandemic: volunteering four days a week at an animal sanctuary where she has strong opinions about goats (she has a favorite, his name is Greg, and he's an a**hole), a miniature horse named Bob, and a chicken named Jeff. She shares her perspective on animal communication, why animals don't really need to talk the way humans do, and what it's like to be present with animals as they leave their bodies.
The whole episode has that quality Kim brings wherever she goes: real, warm, a little unfiltered, and remarkably wise.
Key Takeaways:
Autism may not confer special psychic ability, but it can lower the internal filter that stops people from expressing what they pick up. Kim suggests the gift isn't more perception, it's less self-censorship, and there's a meaningful difference.
The maiden-mother-crone framework may be missing a fourth archetype: the Warrior.
The tools of the warrior don't have to look like traditional strength. Kim's weapons are love and presence, and she spent years feeling ashamed that wasn't more exciting before she accepted it as exactly enough.
Trauma can hone intuitive gifts. Several voices in this conversation, and beyond it, have observed that learning to read a room for survival wires people for psychic sensitivity. The skill doesn't disappear when the danger does.
Animals, for the most part, don't need to be heard the way humans do. Kim observes that animals aren't in a state of disconnect from source, which means the anxious need to be seen and validated just isn't part of their experience. They're already living it.
Psychic experience doesn't require supernatural explanation. Kim points out that science already confirms the five senses don't capture everything: sounds we can't hear, light waves we can't see, magnetic fields fish can navigate. Dismissing intuitive information as impossible while accepting ultraviolet light is, she notes, a little inconsistent.
Being seen, fully and without conditions, is what most people are actually hungry for. Kim has been called mom her whole life, resisted it, and finally stepped into it, and what she found inside it is one of the most powerful things a person can offer another human being.
Direct Quotes:
"I don't think autistic people are any more or less psychic than the rest of the population. I just think we might be less likely to judge ourselves for it and more likely to express it."
"I'm not trying to glean identity or power from outside sources. I've recognized the ability to create it internally and with my creator."
"It doesn't bother me that science has not caught up with my experience."
